...Thoughts from Industry Leaders
Each Wednesday, check our blog to read up on wise thoughts straight from the hearts and heads of Industry Leading Experts. John Sears, Owner and CEO of Realty Point and PresPro.com, shares a wise thought with us this week:
"Pro-activity increases your Productivity. If you are proactive in your communication and tasks, you will be far less distracted by others contacting you and your growing To-Do Task List."
It's important to understand the meanings and differences between these two words. To practice "Pro-activity" means: "To act in advance to deal with an expected difficulty; anticipatory; tending to initiate change rather than reacting to events." "Productivity" is: "having the power of producing; generative; creative; producing readily or abundantly." Without a proactive mindset, one simply cannot forecast a productive day.
Try these 4 Proactive Principles:
1. Have a Positive Mindset- Starting your day with a fresh mindset is crucial to having a good day. The power of positive thinking will help you reach your personal and professional goals. Without a healthy mindset, you will not reach success readily.
2. Prepare Your Day- What do you have to do today? Prepare your mind and schedule according to the day's needs. Knowing what your day holds makes the day go smoother.
3. Organize Your Tasks- Schedule and organize tasks and appointments in order of importance. What is urgent before 11:00am and what can wait until 4:00pm?
4. Create Value- You should have goals in place to create value for yourself and your company. What can you do today that will create value tomorrow?
With these simple proactive principles in mind, you're sure to reach maximum productivity.
